Pet Peeve With Regard to Advice Given

I guess this is the place to mention this.

It often happens that someone asks for advice and is then given lots of good & well meaning help. Then...... nothing. Let us know how things went afterward. Whether it is a repair, restoration, history inquiry, etc., tell us how or if it helped you, or if you still have trouble, or something... When feedback is received, it makes this forum the most useful, because it creates a full circle of Question --> Suggestion --> Result, which others can learn from. (Plus, it's polite to those who have tried to help you to let them know how things went.)

Anyway, I don't mean to preach to you all and I hope I haven't offended anyone.

Personally, I've always felt that a simple "go to hell" from the OP is better than a wall of silence.

(I say this with some tinge of hypocrisy, since over time, I'm sure I've neglected to thank people for helpful advice.)
