I'm just a little confused here. Was a "UK machine" section not made for just this type of thread. Perhaps young Alex is not aware that there is now such a section... .

I saw that machine at the Science Museum a few weeks ago. It's quite a large piece of kit in real life, but very clever. Just around the corner from it is a display case of gramophones and related items. I had a good look through this, much to the delight of my other half who noticed this sign among the exhibits before I did. Apologies for the poor quality camera phone image
