Re: Can you ID this gramophone?
The badge on my machine has been translated (not by me) and reads :
"Pathéphone Factory, Molotov."
I understand that in Russia "Pathéphone" is a generic name for a gramophone, and implies no connection with Pathé Frères.
The "bent wire" record carrier on my machine is crude but effective, and cannot go missing like the 102's detachable tray.

Re: Can you ID this gramophone?
Just out of interest, does anyone elses Russian machine suffer from a noisy automatic brake? About two thirds of the way through a record, the "clicking" sound as the autobrake lever is knocked back becomes annoyingly loud. There is a spring adjustment on the brake mechanism, but it seems to make no difference. I assume that it should be set so that the actuating arm is loose enough to allow it to be knocked back for a few revolutions, but still tight enough to allow the brake to be carried across by the movement of the arm.

The clicking sound is the relay for the KGB secret microphone
