Could you please post a few pictures of your model? It would be very interesting to me how similar the models are.
This photo is from the time I bought it, I'll try to get more photos this weekend, but you can see that the arm is placed right over the horn, which is designed as a reflex cavity (the arm ends in a little horn that points to a curved surface that reflects the sound to the exterior).
