so i bought this machine the other day.
It came with Garrard double sprung motor, wood/metal horn in beautiful gold lacquer. It looks all original, except of course the soundbox.
A Swiss Palliard soundbox was mounted, obviously not the "right" one.
Also there is a monogram on it.
It sounds rather good and I am eager to get some informational input from the collective gramophone brain.
have a great day!

That's a great machine... however, I have no idea who the maker was. I really like the horn...

You sure are on a roll. You have some pretty nice machines so far.

HMV sold machines with the saxophone-shaped horn similar - but not identical - to this machine. Apart from the unique horn, clearly bespoke to the machine, the other parts look like generic ones utilized in several off-brands sold in Germany, Switzerland and England. My guess is English-origin, from the appearance of the cabinet. I looks good, though, and I hope it has a good sound as well!

As for the identification, I think the monogram on the grille might be of some help.
From what I see, it appears to be "HF", or possibly "FH".

I think it says JH. Could be custom made.
Would be cool, but whenever I get a new machine I am thirsting for information... which is sparse on machines like this

Have you tipped it up a little to see if there is some information on the bottom. There may be a tag or two hopefully. Also could the initials be HS.. Tom B

There's a cross-stroke clearly visible, which most probably makes it an F.
