Symphonista Universal Soundbox

Recently acquired this soundbox marked "Symphonista Universal, NPS Co. Made in Germany". Anyone know what it came off as the attachment to the arm is vertical so I can't see how it would have attached to a normal tone arm ?

It's Universal so comes from a gramophone that can play "needle cut" and " hill and dale " records , the soundbox swivels on the tone arm from vertical position playing normal records to angled to play Pathé etc

love the huge speed dial
on the side of the Alexandra, how unusual!
I wonder how it came that the Popular model looks way more ornated than the plain and uninspiring Excellent.

It's clear from the images. This soundboard is made for an universal tonearm, which usually have a looking down final elbow where the soundbox can rotate 90 degrees, so it can be positioned for lateral of vertical records.
