Need Help in Identifying an European OH Gramophone

Post by Alan »

The spring motor box on the right hand side has a crank and two rods, one rod is rpm control and the other is a brake. top of the box right /front corner has a circular plate 1 ½" brass. I not know its function. The sound box,(reproducer) tagged "Vineta"
You will notice that the governor does not have a worm gear. What's interesting is the spring is not enclosed like gramophones springs but open like an old clock spring. Has 5 pillars to fasten the top, pillars stop spring from expanding.
I kept researching and found that an early European Portable Compact,(Kompact) have a very similar turntable drive so I am very close to identifying and this is not a frankenphone.

The soundbox appears to be Swiss or German. I would say it is a no-brand German or Swiss machine. The brass circle on the top looks like a break, but the photo is too coarse to allow to discern. It could be original or a made-up Frankenphone, you would have to examine carefully the case to ascertain if it is modern or vintage.
