Foot wind - PEDOLA

Post by Sidewinder »

Does anyone have knowledge of a foot wound cabinet gramophone. The winding pedal is at the front of the machine below the record storage doors.

Could not find out anything on the internet about the machine or Manufacturer- its called Pedola. (thank goodness not Pedalo like the little paddle boats)

I look forward to seeing the photos.

In the meantime, I was able to spot a patent for a pedal wound gramophone --

I like it. It seems as easy as the Jones Motrola, and far less an impedance to cabinet design.

Somehow, it seems like a step backward to the days of the treadle machine... However, it could have been marketed as an exercise device - "Don't veg in your chair listening to music, lose weight while pedaling to listen..." - an early version of an elliptical machine...
