Lambertphone companion

Post by zapper »

I am restoring a Lambertphone which I have had for some years and have managed to get the mechanics working but now need to restore the case. It has some old worm in the front and a piece of wood missing on the lid. Can anyone advise me about the wood is it European oak as I believe it was manufactured by EWC in Germany.. Also some advise on filling and finishing the worm holes would be useful. The case is stamped with 1899 on the underside. Can anyone give me a date for this machine.
Thanks

Yes, it‘s (European) oak for sure.
