Unbelievable! I've heard reports of stolen portables, soundboxes, records and other small pieces, but such beast! Evidently it has to be someone who is familiar with old gramophones, more particularly English ones, and has a car with a large trunk. It may end up in an English auction house, or on ebay. The good part is that with this notice in the forum, you have now a bunch of expert informers on the lookout.

I have circulated our immediate gramophone group which means that eight more knowledgeable people will keep a sharp lookout.

It maybe useful if any European members could alert any auction house they know who sells gramophones that this has been stolen , France , Holland , Belgium and Germany most likely I guess , but elsewhere as well , this machine is instantly recognisable

I recommend you send certified letters to Brekker, in Koln and to the Ivoire in Chartres, they are the only auction houses outside the UK that carry regular auctions of gramophones, as far as I am aware. If you inform them with the details of the gramophones, they will certainly screen their prospective lots, as their reputations are at stake. SAS in England also carries regular auctions, so you could do the same with them.

That's awful, was anything else taken at the same time or just the EMG?
