I jut picked this up from a local auction and it seems to be a late machine for a horn gramophone , would anyone know what model/year it might be?
The motor board is 13.5 inches square , it has a No 2 soundbox and a double spring motor.
As far as I can make out the Reference is HWO
Thanks
Steve

that's strange, I've never seen a turntable hold-down ring/clip on anything but a portable.

Re: HMV Horn Gramophone identification
The motor looks like a HMV no.32. According to late Graham Barber it was used 1921-41. The speed control seems to be similar to Dennison, except the base looks a bit different? My guess is early 20’s if the transfer on the front is legit and the no.2 soundbox correct?

The "thick frame" HMV logo was introduced in 1924, so I think what you have is a very late Model 24 which was produced from July 1922 to December 1924. The No.32 motor and the No.2 soundbox are both correct for this period.

Thanks all - I did manage to find one picture of a Model 24 which doesn't show detail , so I'll search for an original catalogue or illustration

that's OK although why they make you buy two I don't understand unless they are difficult to apply , I have an original black painted horn ( needs TLC ) which I think is from this model which I believe take the small HMV plug in elbow , I'll post some pictures for you to see

Re: HMV Horn Gramophone identification
Here is the only image I could find of a similar machine with the (very indistinct) framed HMV transfer :
