I'm sure there are a few empty 202 cabinets over here someone has been trying to sell for 30 years. Where are they now when someone wants them?!!

I have an empty cabinet (34 motor)...it's available.
I'm not keen on getting too involved in shipping though. :)

I bought the HMV 202A in the Czech Republic in excellent condition. Has the engine oil bath model 52. What is 202A? Thanks for the reply

He plays beautifully, but I have to admit that I'm putting my 202A Victor Orthophonic sound recorder, because the original HMV5a has a too high degree of noise. Just for your information, the turntable was sold in the Czech Republic in 1927-1931 for 12,000, -CZK, which is today 465, -Euro, for the same amount was sold motorcycle with sidecare. I bought it for EUR 1,746, -Euro.

The 202 in today's money actually equates to about £3,500. I'm not sure if you're familiar with this but from the late 1980's up to about 20 years ago they were fetching anything up to £15,000! Good examples tend to fetch considerably less now and seem to be in the region of £6,000-7,000 with 193's /194's around £2,000-3,000. The 202 is not common and is without a shadow of a doubt the very best acoustic machine made in the pre-1930 period.

Please advise what the 202A designation means. I got it on my turntable. Very special is also the handwritten number under the needle needle. Would you recommend me why there is no original celluloid label with model designation and gramophone number and I have it handwritten. The gramophone is like a new one, the turntable belonged to the owner of the piston ring factory and almost did not play the gramophone at all, so he kept in such a great condition, except that they lost the needle needle and the original patinated silver soundbox.

Mine has the same "For spares quote 202A" label. I can't think of anywhere else that I have seen it referred to as that.

Thought I would never say this: I am converting my HMV 202 into a bottle cabinet! Got a better cabinet from a fellow collector in Germany. And it has got legs! Wil move the parts from my machine to the new cabinet and my carpenter will make matching new legs for my drinks cabinet. Thank you Dimitri for your help!
