Most of syrena gramophones have this motor, probaly its german manufacture (photo made before retoration)
Syrena also used starkton reproducers
sometimes they used signatures on the motor and reproducer (its not mine photos)

A rare and spectacular machine from a company which is little known outside Poland and Russia, even though they had a large export trade including a special series of records for the British market. Note the different spellings of the name on the labels :

Hi! Sirena factory was in Vilna (Vilnius), in those years of Polish autonomy within Russia until 1915. In 1910, 2 brothers Isserlin founded a factory that assembled gramophones from Swiss components.Cases did the same in Russia, on the territory of modern Belarus. The brand "Sirena" was put by order of this factory on the Swiss motors. If you are reading in Russian, here is a picture from the Royal advertising magazine. Translation: the Only sale of the world's most perfect gramophones Swiss factory " Sirena" .Best regards

This is another example of syrena:
All parts of this gramophone depended about price.
customer selected motor, case, horn, reproducer.
So its hard to find 2 identically examples.

I must admit: for sheer glamor, European machines left their American rivals in the dust... :pig:
