File comment: The soundbox without cover. Note the front rubber gasket, which is placed under a small lip under the retaining ring. This method of holding the gasket in place seems not too safe, for the gasket is barely retained in place... BTW, is that small gap in the gasket ring too important?

File comment: Another view of the front gasket. I must correct that gap, although if the diaphragm is correctly in touch with the back gasket, pressed by the front gasket, air pumping will be effective anyway. Nevertheless, I'll amend that to see if sound improves.

File comment: THe back gasket in its groove. Note the small elevation left for the diaphragm over the back raised center portion. This part has also a raised lip that must come very next to the diaphragm when the box is assembled. The diaphragm border stands a mere 1 mm distance from this inner back lip. Could it be that I'm using a too thin rubber tubing for these gaskets?

The rubber gasket for the Meltrope should be 3,2mm diameter. The regular available (white) gaskets are 3.0mm diameter. Proper replacement is available from a gentleman in Sweden via ebay.

Teak, thanks for the info. I must remake the gaskets, as they seem too short to me. But in case I need more tubing, I will ask you for the address in Sweden. I must also try local medical supplies shop to see what kind of rubber tubing is available.
