What is this beautiful machine?

Image from the 1932 film Jewel Robbery, starring William Powell. I assume it's European, though I'm probably wrong.

It's a "hatbox" machine, made by various companies and named that because it looked like an antique hat box...

This, and the one in the film, are made using Palliard components. Reflector lid machines were not common in the US and the only maker I know who made them was Sonora, but I think this is an import.

Carryola made quite a few hatbox machines with the horn opening near the turntable- some were trademarked "Flapperphone"
