What is this beautiful machine?
Image from the 1932 film Jewel Robbery, starring William Powell. I assume it's European, though I'm probably wrong.

It's a "hatbox" machine, made by various companies and named that because it looked like an antique hat box...

This, and the one in the film, are made using Palliard components. Carryola made quite a few hatbox machines with the horn opening near the turntable- some were trademarked "Flapperphone"
