Unusual table top gramophone

I wonder what the history is for this machine ?

It looks old and unusual to me maybe ?

I understand some companies put out kit phonographs. Some of the hinges and joints look a little crude . Otherwise this needs one of the experts. Tom

My phonograph with horn which was bought from Miller and Sons in England (dealers' plaque) has a sound box that looks like yours (from what I can see) and it has a name on it Perfecta Perophone. I had never seen another sound box like it till now. By the way I am not an expert. Neil ha ha
