Hi

As promised here are a couple of images of hand made advertising posters done around 1908/1910 and displayed in the shop window of the shop also shown in the images included. The 'John Willie Come On' has been attached over a previous song at the bottom of the poster. I agree the poster used in the shop shown in the original photograph does seem to depict Scot's Antarctic Expedition. I am dating these examples based on when the original music was released I suppose they could be a few years later.

Regards

Martin

George Formby Senior not only recorded "John Willie Come On", he wrote it.
His c1908 recording can be found on Coliseum, Jumbo and possibly other labels, as was common practice at that time.

His more famous son George Formby Junior recorded the song for Edison Bell Winner in 1926 at the beginning of his career, when he was effectively a tribute act for his late father. The ukulele etc came later.

"Oh! Oh! Antonio!" was recorded by Florrie Forde, also c1908.
