Came across this recently. I love the names for the machines ! Did you know you could buy a "Maidstone" or a "Tottenham" graphophone ?? Any idea where the names "Mabel Grace" or "Walmer" came from ? Can anyone estimate the age from the models shown ?
Thanks

What a great find ! Walmer is of course in Kent , who Mabel Grace is though will be difficult unless she was Mabel Grace Catesby , may be a possibility . Did you notice the Tottenham was unusually front wound !

Thanks for the info - being from "up north" I hadn't heard of Walmer !! The shop looked amazing .
The front wind model is interesting - may be one of our American colleagues can tell us it's real name !!

I'd say the catalog dates to about 1908, judging from the "Columbia Graphophone" banner on the cylinder models.

The "Maidstone" is a BV, which had a unique reproducer; the "Walmer" appears to be a BK.

I've never seen a front wind Disc Graphophone, with the exception of an illustration of an experimental prototype. This model looks very much like a front-mount "client" machine that has been rotated 90 degrees...? :?
