Came across this recently. I love the names for the machines ! Did you know you could buy a "Maidstone" or a "Tottenham" graphophone ?? Any idea where the names "Mabel Grace" or "Walmer" came from ? Can anyone estimate the age from the models shown ?
Thanks

What a great find ! Walmer is of course in Kent , who Mabel Grace is though will be difficult unless she was Mabel Grace Catesby , may be a possibility . Did you notice the Tottenham was unusually front wound !

Thanks for the info - being from "up north" I hadn't heard of Walmer !! The shop looked amazing .
The front wind model is interesting - may be one of our American colleagues can tell us it's real name !!

Re: Catesby and Sons - Tottenham and Maidstone !
I'd say the catalog dates to about 1908, judging from the "Columbia Graphophone" banner on the cylinder models.
The "Maidstone" is a BV, which had a unique reproducer; the "Walmer" appears to be a BK.
I've never seen a front wind Disc Graphophone, with the exception of an illustration of an experimental prototype. This model looks very much like a front-mount "client" machine that has been rotated 90 degrees...?
