Can anyone tell me what make this machine is? It is for sale near me for $1000 Canadian.

We need better pictures. Dozens of German manufacturers used similar generic steel horns. Many Leipzig/Dresden based manufacturers (Mammut, Reklamophon, etc.) also shared same pressed ornament wood trims from local suppliers.Here is a picture of a 1910 Mammut with the same ornament trim. Post close up pictures of the soundbox, tonearm, back bracket, brake and motor. At 1000CAD I would say its a bit overprised. It has got a nice unmolested original horn and finish, but generally speaking most off-brand Swissies and German gramophones are quite weak performers.

It looks like an Odeon to me.

I often see dismissive comments about anything not made by the big three or four, but machines like this one can be found with large and impressively robust motors.

I have two Parlophones and both have superior motors to any Victor or HMV.

I think this is a very nice original machine. The cabinet is in great condition, and looks like original finish. The horn is near perfect, no rust and original paint. The nickel plating is also in great condition. In all my years of collecting, it's better to pay extra for a perfect example. This is one of those machines. I say go for it.

I agree with Steve and Harvey this looks like a nice machine. In my experience these Swiss/German machines were very well built and produce a nice sound. This one has a nice horn (a little rust) which often is hard to find as many of the European horns loose their paint.

To identify the manufacture we will need to see photos of the reproducer/support arm and the motor. Generally the European motors have a manufactures stamp on it.

For $ 1000 Cad this is a good deal. I would of course try to negotiate if the seller is flexible all the better.

Bruce is right. The price is excellent. People need to understand condition is everything. The gramophone is pristine and in uncommonly good condition. It's a very good quality German machine.

Looks Odeon from the cabinet & horn support, but missing the red logo at the front that says "Odeon Machines".

The seller sent me a picture of the I.D plate that is located at the rear of the machine. Turns out it is called a Dulcephone?

I just realized that there is an old Forum Thread on this very machine from 5 years ago ( March 2014) when it first came up for sale. It sold for $800 then. I thought it looked familiar. I liked it then too!
