Horn question. Victor/G&T/DGAG adapter.

Post by Grammofon1904 »

Found the gramo twenty one years ago - Got myselph a beautiful DGAG horn for it now. But - it has tread end, instead of slot. Is/ was there some kind of an adapter at the market for this?

Mark Gaiser(sp?), "Croakingfrog" on eBay, had an elbow listed lately on eBay that looked like it would fit that thread. To my knowledge however, it was not a Victor/G&T/DGAG elbow. Doesn't seem to be listed now, but maybe he still has it.

Yes, those are mine. The strange things, Are that this is a DGAG horn, and should have the well known Victor connection, not Zonophone....

That's funny! Makes sense though. I should have realized that I suppose. Just my take on it, but I sure wouldn't be selling the elbow, (and the tone arm & back bracket), that fits that horn until I learned the whole story.

That is strange. I have never seen a Victor or Associate Co. horn with that type of screw fitting. If it wasn't for the DG HMV transfer on the horn you would say that they must have made it for their Zonophones. Perhaps they did anyway and the transfer is incidental or it was a short-lived fitting inspired by Columbia and Pathé.
