Has anyone seen much of these? I stumbled across this one and just had to check it out, seems like a jump between disc and tape recording, certainly must be very early in the life of magnetic recording.
It's made by EMI in Hayed Middlesex the little model plaque looks very similar to HMV gramophones, at first I thought it was a portable record lathe, but I later realised the disc was in fact magnetic with a moving magnetic record/playback head, it's working, and their is a recording, but it's very faint.
I'd never seen one before, probably won't be keeping it, but it's a very interesting curio!
