Glad to see there are other fellows who dig quality portable gramophones! 
Do you perhaps know which are the differences between Columbia 163 and Columbia 175 models?

I own seven, but the two hmvs 101 and the 102 are the ones most used (when I took them from their corner just to play them an hour). With them therea Columbia 113a, which I now use less because its bad tracking angle makes me cringe. I'm on search to make an adaptor. The Diana is currently disassembled. The Brunswick Parisian was revised just last week. Also needs a motor repair. The Thorens is stored in the basement. It runs, but is a record eater. It also needs some improvement work...

The 175 was the higher-end version of the 163 with a double sprung motor. It was copied to become the 113a by the british columbia arm. It is much rarer than the 163 or the 113a, especially in europe.Marco Gilardetti wrote:Glad to see there are other fellows who dig quality portable gramophones!
