Another communication confirms that their second (export model) Xb is also an Oversize---final diameter 33 ½". Shipping costs were high for large objects, thus EMG decided to make the horn in two parts, joined and bolted together by a flange on each. This did not affect the sound in any way but changed cosmetic appearance. Smaller horns were also produced to this design for similar cost-saving reasons.

My goodness, the XB Oversize horn in that first photograph is an absolute mouth-watering beauty!
The inner finish is breathtaking in its subtlety, though I suppose an enlargement of the photo would be needed in order to know exactly how it looks.
