What to do with the worst basket-case ever (beside throw it)

Post by Grammofon1904 »

Got bugs for dinner? Something i had in the garage for years. Some simple machine. Nothing to pun money in whatsoever. The condition was incredible bad! So - it went for xmas present for a happy relative of mine. New case was made out of some old wood - except the base, that one survived. Resprayed horn, leaf-silver instead of rust and a new spring...

That's a fine restoration--and a homebuilt case is going to last much longer than a patched-up original eaten by bugs. Lovely work!

Good job: when they're too far gone, they're too far gone...

I don't get exactly what you did with the horn: did you swap it between the two machines, and did you add some shades to the previous flat greenish paint?

Absolutly true - but now it give happiness instead as parts in a drawer and rest of it at a landfill..
Horn was painted black, with hair and dust into it off course. Yes, painted it pale green and decorated it after with paintbrush. The other blue horn was some new crap.
