Can anyone date this early 102A?

Hi All, I have another 102 in, but this time its and early one with the metal motor board and No.16 soundbox (which sounds amazing by the way!). Everything about it is early except it has the later auto brake... I suspect one of the earliest runs to have it. Can anyone give me a specific year for this serial? I suspect 1932 but I dont have access to a list of serial numbers.

To clarify features.

Early motor board
No 16 box
Round ivorine label - no prefix
9 digit serial with 1020 prefix (not 1021)
TYPE 2 auto brake.

More pics later after its service!

I believe early 102 had metal motor board which was Lateef changed to a wooden one around 1933. The 16!sound box gave way to the 5A around 1934. This means yours was produced around 1934. Thanks

This one has the early metal motor board so definitely not 1934, its probably 1932 but also possibly could be early 1933? I was hoping someone would have a reference of the serial numbers to get a clear idea.

There are a couple of old threads on here which may help to date your gramophone.

Here are the links:

I can't seem to make the first link work correctly - which is a shame as it might be the most useful to you.

Thanks chaps, I've added pics to those as both relevant! Mine is now the earliest example of the second autobrake by quite some way.

Very interesting indeed.

I must take another look at that (to me) fascinating thread.
