Did Victor Sell This Type of Horn?

Post by melvind »

This horn being sold on Ebay is setup for a Victor machine, and it has a Victor decal on the inside of the horn. Is this correct or has someone added a decal later?

This is correct. It is a fiber horn for export. These are common for HMV machines.

Agreed - I used to have one - as I recall the decal is slightly different than the US models.

Thanks for the info guys. I've seen red horns on HMV machines but I always thought they were metal. Is this different than the red metal horns?

Flaxite horns were an alternative option to wood on some HMV machines. The examples I have seen were grained in oak or mahogany.
