Just ran across this item on Craigslist:
http://newhaven.craigslist.org/atq/3991578335.html
Never mind the overly optimistic price; I'm puzzled by that reproducer.
It looks as if it were gutta-percha, but there's no writing on it, and the style is all wrong (as far as I know).
Does anyone know whether Columbia made later style reproducers in gutta-percha or ebonite?

I believe someone simply painted the Q's reproducer. I don't recall ever having seen that done before!

The reproducer is painted black, the back of the case has the shield decal, and the mandrel tag is missing. I say this machine is from 1906.I wish the seller lots of luck to get $1,000 for a Q.

I've seen better machines sell for $350-$400...
What a dreamer... It's also missing the Patent insert as well that goes inside the end of the mandrel..

Wow... What a crack addict... He can't be serious.. That's a $300 machine. I've actually passed up two of those in near mint shape in the past...
Go figure.
I think that they hope that someone from Asia with deep pockets will buy it.....but $100,000?? Please..
