But the fakers will still need to know the proper machines/horns and locations! Fortunately, that's oftentimes a challenge for them... :)

I've had a couple of the Columbia decals, they really are excellent. (and no, I'm not faking anything!)

I wonder how these compare in quality to the more expensive Cline decals.

I think the price is almost the same, but the ebay auctions give 2 decals.

Both Gregg Cline and Eduardo in Peru sell fine decals at a very fair price. When I occasionally need them, I would gladly pay double the cost. Gregg has even taken the time and effort at a show to apply a decal to one of my machines in order to demonstrate the application process to me. Eduardo, in addition to decals, makes cabinets and horns to the highest standards, and is dedicated to learning more about improving his products. In my humble opinion, collectors should be grateful that either have taken the initiative and time to offer these products. To parse the minutia of one vs. another vis-a-vis price detracts from their contributions to everyone's enjoyment of this hobby.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know a source of reproduction decals (or transfers as we call them in the UK) suitable for the lids of musical boxes?

I have a "Bells in View" box which has been re-veneered in the past and has lost it's decal in the process. Here is a picture of the sort of thing which it would originally have had. No maker's name, just a decorative design :

I believe Gregg can make a decal from a very good photo along with dimensions. Jerry Blais

I just got some decals from Peru. A friend of mine ordered them for me because I don't use pay pal. These decals are fantastic. I've bought Gregg decals before, and they are nice, too. Each maker is unique in their own way. Gregg has decals that Eduardo doesn't have and visa-versa. Both men really contribute greatly to this hobby.
