FOR SALE (via Living Social) - Watch/phonograph tools - $9!

Post by 52089 »

I got an offer today from Living Social (like Groupon) for a 16 piece set of watch repair tools for just $9, with free shipping! There are several tools in the kit that would be suitable for phonograph and reproducer repair. Kit contents follow:

•1 Watchband Link Pin Remover
•1 Watchband Holder
•1 Spring Bar Remover
•3 Pin Punches
•1 Metal and Plastic Hammer
•1 Case Knife
•3 Slotted Screwdrivers
•2 Phillips Screwdrivers
•1 Case Wrench
•1 Pair of Long-Nose Pliers with Side Cutters
•1 Pair of Stainless Steel Tweezers

I ordered a couple for myself. Here's a link to the offer (with pictures) in case anyone is interested.

I just ordered this set. I'll see if it is of good quality or junk. For $9.00 plus sales tax, I'll take a chance. Thanks for the tip.

It seems you have to sign up with Living Social to order.

An alternative is to order from NewEgg itself for the same price and free shipping.

This also seems to be a pretty good deal. The tool seems a little more substantial for less money and free shipping. FYI

FYI, I received my kit today and am attaching a picture so you can see exactly what you get for $9. I have not opened the kit to assess the quality yet. I'm hoping the pin punches and case wrench will be very handy when rebuilding Edison reproducers.
