The Columbia 204 of 1933 and it's badge engineered clone the HMV 97 were the first portables designed by EMI, following the merger of Columbia and HMV in 1931.
Both models continued into the post war era, the 204E being produced until 1952. It was available in blue and green in addition to the standard black.
