Thought this looked very interesting - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-Electrog ... SwmoBZa0~0
I believe there is a video of one of these working on Yotube.

If you look closely, it uses a diamond disc stylus, so I would be weary of using it on a cylinder machine for fear of damaging my cylinders.

On Blue Amberols? the reproducer uses the same weight and stylus from the diamond B and C.RolandVV-360 wrote:If you look closely, it uses a diamond disc stylus, so I would be weary of using it on a cylinder machine for fear of damaging my cylinders.

Rich,
I was the "lucky" winner, I guess. I was always intrigued by that Sykes reproducer, just hoping the coil is good.

Congratulations Chuck. I was watching but I didn't want to go that high although I do that no it a fair price for a very seldom seen item. Let us know how it works.

I will.
I have no idea what it's worth, well actually I know what it was worth to me, but I haven't seen one up for sale before.
I looked up the patent and it was applied for in 1935 and granted in 1936. No doubt it didn't sell well, coming out 10 years after the demise of cylinder records.
The patent describes a unit for Victor tonearms and Edison DD arms.

Hi Chuck,
is it possible for you to take photographs if you rebuild the reproducer, I have always wanted to make my own electric reproducer, I have a few 1920s /30s electric disc reproducer parts and would like to make a cylinder one with a modified diamond B.
Thanks, Jake
