Quite commonplace, as the solder joints of those terrible crude elbows fall apart leaving no option but for the (doubly) hapless owner to stuff the horn on upright as per these examples.

I've recently acquired a couple of these typical crapophones very cheaply to assist a local dance group wanting to use them (they will be mobile and amongst the public in an outdoor setting, much too risky to use original machines) but more importantly, I'm looking forward after that to destroying them in spectacular style on film.

Sad that I see more and more of these advertised to unsuspecting people. Maybe they can pass a law and have them put a warning label on them. BEWARE YOU ARE BUYING A CRAPOPHONE WHICH IS A GRAMOPHONE IMITATION. Tom B
