Vesper gramophone on UK eBay

Like the Bassanophone featured on one of my previous threads, the Vesper was a high quality machine from a small manufacturer. Some models such as the one pictured here had a rear facing horn, the idea being that the sound would be reflected back off the wall behind. Having never heard a Vesper I cannot comment on the standard of reproduction, but this example is a most handsome piece of cabinet work. Yes it has been re-polished, but it appears to have been done well :

If this is in the UK, why haven't you already bought it? This is an extremely interesting machine, in a wonderful cabinet... The seller indicates that he would ship it to the US, but I would have my doubts about having it arrive intact...

Phantastic! Took me 2 seconds to buy it :D

Almost no one is shipping Cabinets to Vienna.

Well done TEAK. I was surprised it had not been snapped up much earlier. I already have this model and wonderful it is too. With all Seymour parts it really does sound wonderful with acoustic records. Placed in a corner, the sound source vanishes and it simply fills a small room.
It makes a sad statement of the current state of the UK gramophone market when a piece like this is ignored by local collectors. It was an absolute bargain too.

UK collecting is in the doldrums , most serious collectors are old and have probably as many machines as they have room for , When we used to go to the Newark ( UK ) antique fair in the 1980s there were always around 100 collectors who would attend over the ensuing years that number tailed off until in the 1990s there were only a handful , if I had found this machine I wouldn't know who to sell it to now , so I would have put it on Ebay as well !
