Did anyone attend this auction? It had several phonographs for sale, including a coin-op. Did anyone note the price it brought? Thank you.

Wow!!!X I have never seen a Perfected Graphophone Coin-op before. Talk about rare. Beautiful decal too; too bad the glass is broken. I am also curious to see who was there and how much it went for. I went to the auctioneer's website and posted the below pic.

Pictures of the Perfected Graphophone. Wish I was the lucky bidder.

I'd be willing to bet that the rare Perfected Graphophone coin-op sold at this auction for (what most would consider) a bargain based on what I see in the auction pictures. It looks like it was a good old fashioned country estate auction with lots of odds and ends and plenty of stuff in nice "as found" condition...just as most of us would like to find phonographs and other antiques. Here are the pictures from that auction: http://www.briandeboltauctionservice.co ... /index.htm.

Looks like there was a humpback Victor II with what may have been a Hawthorn & Sheble horn, a baby bombe Sonora, Concert Roller Organ and, of course the lovely Perfected Graphophone coin op. If it was missing parts...so what...just to own a rarity like this as it is would be a thrill.

What a great auction it must have been to attend.

An absolutely beautiful 'barn find' example of the 1895 Type 'S' Automatic Graphophone. Given the obscure auction with an array of mediocre miscellaneous items for sale, I suspect that the lucky buyer got it for a nominal price. It is great to know that there are still gems out there waiting to be discovered. I'm just a little jealous that I didn't know about the auction in advance so I could have been that lucky bidder. OK I'm a lot jealous.
