Not mine. Normally I'd walk away from a complete machine being parted out in this fashion, but this is one of the very, very, very last Edison Standard machines which has some very scarce attributes. A bit "ho-hum" for lots of folks, but kind of neat (and sad) for us Standard freaks. Perhaps a deal can be struck by one of you that wants an ICS machine?

I agree that's a very desirable and rare variant. It's really a shame it's being parted out like that, especially such a rare model.

I take it that he could care less about collecting machines and only cash. This is a shame . I wonder what he could have gotten for the whole model C. When they are in good shape as this one seems to be in I wonder about him. I have two Model C ICS machines already otherwise I would have gone in for a package offer. I have brought two 2 latch standards in parts and it gets expensive. One was a real low serial number and I hated to see it parted out. They were not as broken up though as this model. Tom B

people seem to be bidding on the stuff... I don't know why anyone would support this sort of thing.

I agree with you and don't like to encourage this kind of behavior. However the serial number indicates that it was in the last thousand or so Standards made. There are not a lot of those out there (and it appears that there's about to be one less). I sometimes wish I didn't care about stuff like this.brianu wrote:people seem to be bidding on the stuff... Re: Last chance for ICS Standard model C #820130
I broke down and purchase a lot of it. I just could not see it ruined being a high serial number machine. It had to be produced in the last months of production. I will have it up and running in two or three months after I finish a couple of projects. One is redoing a searchlight horn. It probably would have been cheaper to purchase the whole machine if it had been offered that way. The spring is broke so that may be why he split it up. . After some additional repairs and parts with a good cleaning it will be added to my two other ICS C machines. One has a cygnet horn attachment and 2/4 gears.. The 2/4 gears are special to the ICS C phonograph. I now have standard serial numbers 1200 to 820000 and a bunch in between. Tom B

Glad you were able to save this rare machine. Except for a few parts, I think you did OK. A Model C is a pretty rare bird as a regular machine. But an ICS Model C is very rare. Now you'll be able to bring it back to original. Good luck with your restoration.
