Art Deco Apollo on UK eBay

Post by epigramophone »

Apollo was the gramophone brand name of Messrs Craies and Stavridi of London. Walnut was rarely used on British machines, and this striking Art Deco example is a cut above Apollo's usual offerings. It probably incorporates their "Deep Tone Resonator", a saxophone shaped horn which anticipated HMV's version by several years.

How on Earth did you locate that in this section ?

Crafts>Woodworking>Other Woodworking Supplies

I doubt it will sell for that money if it was listed in gramophones probably wouldn't sell either BUT if listed in

Antiques>Periods/Styles>Art Deco

It would stand a good chance !

A very handsome gramophone and the price seems to be very reasonable. I agree with Brandon that it would be a wonderful machine to own.

I would buy it as well if it was in the USA. Beautiful machine.
