That revere is really neat. I just wish it had its legs

is that a pot metal or brass reproducer on the revere? it's hard to tell from the photos.

My guess would be condition- condition- condition. The other two you linked to are nice machines but lacking by comparison.

Sorry for my delay in response to your questions and thanks for the help of others to help answer some of them before I could.

I was very pleased to obtain the shorty Revere years before I got one with it's legs. Once I did, I was planning to have legs made, but now I'm just not interested. I did see an empty cabinet with it's legs for only $25 come up on Craigslist up near the Great Lakes, but the owner never responded back. I was thinking that fat wooden fancy table legs (of similar original Revere length) that had the standard ⅜" metal male threads, could be obtained that could just screw into the 4 metal threaded holes that exist on the cabinet's underside (as does exist under all or most Victrolas originally used to hold them down in the shipping crate from the factory). Otherwise as is, it's height is perfect when seated and with the drop down door makes sorting and playing records more comfortable than standing. It's has a pot metal type of reproducer.

Regarding the price of the Oak bombay sided Puritan, certainly condition is a real big biggy, but so is rarity. Yes these come up from time to time over the years, but are they available when you want and where you want. Sure many collectors pride themselves (as I do) on a terrific find at a great price, but we also have to pay up for the rarer ones when they come available. I paid over $2k for my other bombay sided Oak Puritan (Baroque), expended over a grand to travel to get it, and I know I'll be kicking myself later for letting this model go, I can't totally give it away. It's very expensive to operate and maintain my Sprinter van and I use it pretty much solely to collect Victrolas and Electrolas and drive from Florida cross country, many times in the past just for one machine as in this case and I'm offering free delivery and having to do another cross country trip once again for this same machine. I was thinking of going to Donley's but only if I sell something. I should point out I invest heavily in constructing special 3 sided carts to easily pickup and safely transport, as well as buying sheets of 1" high density foam and rolls of plastic wrap. I lay the cart on it back so no machine travels on it's old skinny legs. I use rolls of rubber to hold these carts in place. I am not a believer of throwing a blanket on a machine and straping it down. That's very abusive in my book. I have spent over $800 for a special lift to lift my machines/carts into the van. My body is in bad shape so I have to do things a certain way to guarantee I don't inflict any damage to machine or man. Also, this machine was missing it's spring barrel, the spring barrel shaft, and the spring barrel gears. I had bought another Saal motor type DD, just to get the shaft and gears (since it too was missing its spring barrel). Then found and bought a second Saal motor, this time type AA to use its spring barrel on my Puritan's original DD motor. Shipping for both motors additionally kept the investment going up. This simply is a choice of the individual if they want it, otherwise to keep two curvy and different Puritan models in my collection would be very sweet compared to all the other boxy ones I have and cherish.
