I may be wrong but I think that this is one of the very early HMV 102 portable gramophones.
No. 16 sound box and original auto brake.
I would have bid for it but already have a similar early one - I would love to know the production number though and assume it would be very low.

You are probably correct, the nr 16 soundbox and the lack of manual break are evidences that the machine is from the initial production. From the performance standpoint, though, the later machines with the 5A soundbox and the improved break with the manual backup are better, so this one would interest more those that collect the variants of this portable.
