Something seems really off with this case... the trim is odd and the corner columns, capitals and bases are all differently sized.

Look at the vertical lines on the corner columns - obviously a home-made job, and a crude one at that!

This looks legit to me. It is a French Monarch. Look at the decal. It has all the French markings on it. I still would stay away from it because of the seller's bad feedback.

Looking at the feedback it is evident the seller took a Victor III apart and sold the parts piecemeal. :x

If this machine doesn't sell, I'm sure he'll part it out, too.

My vote is that it's made up from parts. Corner columns are very poorly made reproductions. Also, I believe for a European machine, the back bracket should be nickle plated. The moldings at the top & bottom of the side panels are highly suspect too.

Some early European machines do have the black/decal decorated back bracket like the US ones. However this machine has crude applied mouldings especially the horizontal ones with the semi-circular type design. This has been done unevenly by hand and does not have the uniform flow you would see with a machine pressed moulding like those used by the Victor/Gramo Co's and others.

Thanks! Didn't know that.
