Unusual Victrola VV-XIV on auction site EBTH in MD

Post by Kirkwood »

Missing the turntable (not such a big deal) and the speaker? This is that short-lived looks-like-a-Victrola-XI version before they revised the cabinet in 1914-15. The Exhibition reproducer is there, suspect the one still attached to the arm is an Audak or other after-market upgrade.

This is the earlier one, the Queen Anne style- it is more "Boxy" than the later style.

I have one of these. Actually, I own all 3 versions. This version is neat. It is a little shorter, it uses a female crank, which I had to find a new one and was expensive, and the record storage is laid out without the horizontal slots for albums at the bottom. It is a common Machine number, but it is a neat little niche version in between both of the other versions.
