IDELIA - BUY IT NOW

Post by Curt A »

If you have been wanting one, $13,500 seems somewhat reasonable...

It certainly would have sold in a heartbeat for that price a few years ago.

I agree it's not insanely priced but the condition is pretty poor and the mandrel appears to be off a Triumph.

If I’m not mistaken Mark had it at the last Wayne Show in October.

This was also at the June Union Show. I think it was offered for $11K at that time.

I have never really understood the Opera and Idelia desire. I am a bit ignorant when it comes to appreciating Edison machines. Could someone please shed some light on this? Thanks

The interest in the Idelia is mainly for rarity. As a machine it is essentially the same as the Triumph. Now the Opera is something different: it is the best sounding player for blue amberols, and it is unique in design (the first Amberola has a very similar motor but a small internal horn).
