"Would need to be completely restored."
That is an understatement... The question is: "Could it be restored... (without spending a fortune to get it running)"?

I'm sure that cosmetically it could be cleaned up, de-rusted, re-painted and striped and look good on the outside... BUT what about the inside and the electrical parts?

Well, I’m not familiar with the electrical parts from that time period. I think someone with knowledge in electronics, espically from that time period. Would have a better chance at getting it up and running.

Can you imagine someone buying this, getting it home and actually plugging it in with the original cord?

To preserve the original "patina", how about just clear coating it and calling it a Rat-ograph?

That’s a frightening thought ? :o

The cord is so bare, that it could cause a spark, or the motor could start too smoke? Or nothing would happen, and it would trip a circuit breaker.
