For some reason, the 4-3 and 4-40 show up in the Boston area all the time.

Now if if only an 8-something would show up near me... :D

4-40s are nice machines! A friend of mine has one and I've always really liked the look and sound, although the footprint is about the same as a Credenza. It's funny, 4-3s used to be everywhere in the greater Albany area too, but they've dried up. I used to see Granadas all the time as well, my first Orthophnic was a 4-7 which I actually regret selling after I started finding the larger models here. The last two local orthophonics that turned up in my area was a Granada (ironically, and it was nice and only $50 but I'm outta space) and an 8-4 for $100 that was on CL and FB marketplace, I messaged the seller on both and never got a response. No matter, I already have one.

This poor baby! The original ad expired and I supposed it had been sold. Now it's popped up again at the low, low price of just twenty-five smackeroos. Well worth the price just for the soundbox -- heck, the tone-arm bracket alone, assuming it's not pot-metaled out, is worth it! Had I any room for it, I'd go get it myself, just to save it from becoming a wine bar...it looks eminently restorable.

It's a shame it is too far away. I hate seeing a machine languish :(

It's a good machine to salvage. The top is really long and you could put small phonographs on the ends while still using the lid!

I actually love these machines though I do not have room for one. I live in a 12x10 room and have two floor models in there...a little tight!

Hey everyone. I was home for spring break and this was still available, so I had to grab it. Looking forward to getting it up and running. Will soon post on the "machines" section regarding a question I have with the crank.

Best,
Benji
