Aeolian Art Model on eBay

Post by Benjamin_L »

It's really humbling to see one of your favorite machines in your collection you think is pretty rare that you've never seen another one for, listed on eBay for $35 bucks...

The tone arm is intact- that in itself is a miracle.

That's great, I'm really glad a member of the forum got it. I'm in the process of restoring one with the electric motor upgrade.

It's a model/style 1631 upright Queen Anne, it was introduced to Aeolian's lineup of period/art models in March of 1922 for a whopping $525 for just the standard model. It wasn't a good seller for Aeolian and they kept dropping the price, the last price drop I could find was in mid 1923 for $450. But I think Aeolian was still making machines into 1924 before they sold the label to Brunswick that year.

Yours looks like it's missing the volunome, which was another volume dial next to the turn table. (Getting the lid support fixed or replaced may be a little difficult.)
