I believe that I got that impression from something which Percy Wilson wrote in Modern Gramophones and Electrical Reproducers. It has been many years since I've read the book, and my copy was lost to fire.

It sold for £510, so if anyone is still wondering, EMG = £££.alang wrote:Please excuse my ignorance, but could anyone please explain what is so special about this soundbox - except the three letters EMG of course. From the two pictures in the posting it does not look much different from many other mica soundboxes of the period.
