I thought this was very, very nice.
Okay, so the album is a little tatty but I think it is beautiful.
With the records, it seems to be a complete time capsule from Woolworths I think.
Maybe some hard to come by records too.
They seem to be going cheap.
If I was on ebay they would be mine - but I am not and therefore they are not.
Only about a day to go ....

Why aren't you on Ebay ? it costs nothing to join and you could buy this and all the other items you draw attention topoodling around wrote:I thought this was very, very nice.

The main reason is just that - I would buy far too much. I buy too many things at auction as it is.
I do learn a lot from people from their comments on the threads.
I genuinely hope I don't annoy you (and others) by putting too much on ? I don't mean to and would reduce doing it if I am a nuisance.
Happy days always.

Keep posting, Poodling!
I wonder if the album itself held a specific set of records, or was sold empty.
Anyway, it was a good way to commemorate the end of WW I, if that was the marketing intent.

Given the presence of the ship on the cover, I thought it was probably intended to remind the customer of HMS Victory.barnettrp21122 wrote: Anyway, it was a good way to commemorate the end of WW I, if that was the marketing intent.

I don't know for sure, but assume that the album is associated with Victory Records only - started in 1926 I think. But maybe the WW1 victory was 'alluded to indirectly' ?
I also assumed (maybe wrongly)that the album was initially empty - though there are a few Victory records in the sale.
There is quite an interesting 'history' link 'below':
