This looks very interesting maybe - a rare 'barn find' perhaps ?

Is it an HMV Model 7 ?

I don't have my His Master's Voice book in front of me. I think it's an HMV No. 7. That was the replacement of the Monarch Senior.

I am guessing that the current £ 700 bid does not include:

Additional Fees:

Commissions*: 28.20% inc.VAT/sales tax

*Includes buyer's premium and online commission. For more information please read the auctioneer's T&Cs.

Which would increase the buyers price by about another £ 200 ?

It must be one original, rare machine.

Sold for £1,000.

I wonder what made it so valuable ?

I hope someone bought it who is on this forum.

I suggest you do your own research but as someone has already said it is a No. 7, the replacement Senior Monarch and top of the standard domestic horn model range in this period. The original wooden horn adds 1000 GBP to the value. In pristine condition it's a 2000 GBP machine all day long.

The more appropriate question to ask is why did it make so little? The condition was quite rough but these don't turn up every day.

Very interesting points I think.

I will have a look at the internet to learn a little about this model.

Thank you very much Steve.
