Edison Concert on Ebay sold for $800.00?

Post by phonogal »

I was watching this listing and it had some bids on it. Bids were canceled and then listed as a Buy-it-Now. Looks like someone offered the guy $800.00 for it.eBay Item #401777606454

The first Opera's were called Concert's.I don't know what's up with the crank but I think it's worth considerably more than $800.00.

Actually, it's the late Operas that were labeled at Concert due to a trademark issue with the U-S Phonograph Co. who put their "Opera" out before Edison did.

wow, somebody actually purchased an opera or concert
or whatever they were calling it that week, for
a reasonable price.

On ebay even.

That does not happen very often.

It was the seller's first listing. I hope it wasn't a scam.

Who knows? At least if paying with Paypal the buyer will be ok if it is. I think the seller would have done better to let the auction finish though. I'm sure the people that had already placed bids were disappointed.

I hope not as well. I know I've seen that crudely painted Edison logo before. Makes me very suspicious.
